To expand reach and grow user base, ticketing portal BookMyShow has acquired Chennai-based fan relationship management and analytics startup Fantain Sports.
Fantain Sports is known for providing fan insights, engagement and monetisation on its proprietary fan relationship management platform, specifically catering to sports businesses in India.
As sports as a category is becoming a strong focus level for Big Tree Entertainment owned ticketing portal, it plans to utilise the analytical intelligence data provided by Fantain to gain insights about sports fans. However, financial details of the deal are yet to be disclosed.
Fantain Sports was founded by three IT professionals – Anand Ramachandran, Vivek Venugopalan and Aravind Ramachandran in 2013. Fan relationship management and analytics startup claims Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderbad as its customers. It is also planning to expand its wings in the kabaddi and tennis.
Financial details of the deal are yet to be disclosed.
