Online marketplace ShopClues is planning to hire 1,500 more employees to double its headcount by the end of this year. The new employees will be hired in various roles like products and technology, categories and management, operations and more.
ShopClues is looking forward to do majority of hiring at the lateral level, only 100-150 freshers will be hand-picked from engineering colleges and B-schools. It is also expected that the startup might hire externally for some leadership positions. However, internal promotions have not been ruled out.
Apart from talent from the e-commerce industry, it will also be hiring people with an ability to learn and collaborate.
For positions in technology and management, the online marketplace recruits from institutions like SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, IIMs, Faculty of Management Studies, Management Development Institute, IITs, NITs and from smaller engineering schools as well.
The other investors of the startup are Helion Venture Partners and Tiger Global Management.
