An initiative has been taken by the Advertising Standard Council of India (ASCI) against objectionable advertisements of various products. A whatsapp number +91-7710012345 has been generated, where consumers can directly report their complaints.
Advertising Standard Council of India (ASCI) is going to connect with consumers and restrict misleading advertisements by accepting complaints from consumers on Whatsapp.
In a press release Benoy Roychowdhury, ASCI Chairman said “Today almost every person with a smartphone is using messaging services such as WhatsApp. Technology makes it possible for them to flag false, misleading or offensive ads instantaneously and anytime anywhere while on the go – be it while reading newspapers at home, on their way to office, listening to radio or watching TV in the evening.”
The application Whatsapp will empower the consumers to speak up against repulsive advertisements by sending photos, radio recordings or video clips. ASCI team will take the necessary action and promote healthy advertising.
