With an investment of Rs 1,300 crore, Model Economics Township Ltd, wholly-owned arm of Reliance Industries, is planning to develop an electronics manufacturing hub and footwear park at Jhajjar.
It is expected that the units established inside electronics hub and footwear park will further attract investment of Rs 2,600 crore and generate around 20,000 employment opportunities. Model Economic Township Ltd, formerly known as Reliance Haryana SEZ Ltd, has already signed MOUs with Haryana government at the Happening Haryana global investors summit to develop 450-acre electronic manufacturing clusters and 500-acres footwear park.
As per the MOUs, Haryana government will facilitate all approvals on fast track basis and also provide eligible incentives to the units to be established in both electronic hub and footwear park.
The industrial town will spread over 8,000 acres. The company has already developed 290 acres where Panasonic and Dentsu have set up their facilities and employed 3,000 employees. With this move, the company aims to support Make in India initiative of the government by providing world class infrastructure to units which want to manufacture in India.
