Rising Pune Supergiants partners with Spykar

Must Read

Sanjiv Goenka owned Rising Pune Supergiants has roped in Indian jeanswear maker Spykar as the associate sponsor for 2016 and 2017 seasons.
The team jersey will sport Spykar logo on the back.
Spykar as a brand has been quiet all these years and now wants to start a conversation with its consumers. Having established firmly in the metros and tier 1 markets, Spykar has started looking at consolidating its business in the tier 2 and tier 3 markets since the last few years.
“Having established firmly in the metros & tier 1 markets, Spykar has started looking at consolidating its best in the business position in the Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets since the last few years. There could not be any vehicle better than the IPL. IPL is one of the few sporting events, which cuts across the entire spectrum of towns & cities and audiences as well. IPL has huge women fan following too– striking the chord well with Spykar’s newly launched women’s collection. And which better team to deliver this audience than the Rising Pune Supergiants led by the super cool, super star and the most ecstatic performer MS Dhoni along with teammates like R Ashwin, Ajinkya Rahane, Steve Smith & Faf du Plessis, ” Director & Chief Operating Officer, Spykar Lifestyle Pvt Limited Sanjay Vakharia said in the press release.
This is the first time Spykar has invested in IPL and is expecting that the sole positioning on the back jersey of the Pune team will attract the necessary eyeballs.
Stabilising its business under its new investor, UK-based HNI fund owned by entrepreneur Apurva Bagri, has also given the 25-year-old denim brand leeway to make investments into brand building and marketing.
Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Raghu Iyer, CEO of RISING PUNE SUPERGIANTS said, “Our association with Spykar is our third major sponsorship announced since last week. The core nucleus of our team is strong and the talent is unparalleled, similar to the Brand attributes which are followed closely by Spykar, which represents the youth of this Country.”
