Retail technology in India has transcended from an aspiration to an expectation and has wedged itself securely between consumer and experience to create an everyday interface. A plethora of experiences have migrated online and with them, consumers. While it has definitely made life easier for consumers, retailers in India have spent the better part of the last few years on their heels, reacting to profound changes throughout the sectors of the industry.
And therefore, the IMAGES Retail Technology Awards were launched in 2015 to honour retailers who have done exemplary work in implementation of technology in their operations — both at back-end and customer-facing end.
The 13th edition of India’s largest retail intelligence event — India Retail Forum (IRF) and its concurrent event – the 2nd edition of India Omnichannel Forum (IOF) will kick off with two special workshops — the CEO Leaderboard Series — on September 20th, before formally being inaugurated on September 21st at Hotel Renaissance, Mumbai in the presence of over 2000 delegates from Indian and international retail, retail support, technology and CPG businesses.
The theme for IRF 2016 — ‘Navigating avigating avigating avigating the Fastest Growing Major Market of the World’ — emphasises the undisputed growth of the Indian economy, but also refers to the growing complexities of successful retailing in a fast changing consumer landscape.
