FreeCharge to enable 2000 pharmacies to go cashless in Noida

Must Read

FreeCharge, India’s fastest growing digital payments platform, has recently tied-up with Gautam Budh Nagar Zila Chemists Association, which will see nearly 2000 pharmacies in Noida and Greater Noida start accepting FreeCharge wallet.
Nearly 100 pharmacies have already gone live in the last few weeks and the balance will go live sequentially across other parts of Noida and Greater Noida. All the pharmacies will be allotted a QR code and a customer needs to scan the code to complete the payment – a process which takes less than 10 seconds, said the company.
Commenting on the association, Chief Business Officer, FreeCharge, Sudeep Tandon said, “By enabling pharmacies across Noida and Greater Noida to accept digital payments using FreeCharge, we want to ensure that no customer in need should ever face stress in buying medicines in the event of cash liquidity issues.”
For the chemists, this represents both a short term solution – keeping sales unaffected and a long term solution, as handling of cash, including its transportation to banks is time consuming and effort intensive.
All payments made at the shop through FreeCharge will be auto-credited to the pharmacy’s FreeCharge account, which the pharmacy can then withdraw to its bank account.
