Virtuous Retail, India’s only institutionally backed retail platform has been recognised at the IDC Insights Awards 2016 organised by International Data Corporation.
It has won the IDC Insight award to its IT leader, Chirag Boonlia, Vice President – IT for IT/ Technology Implementation – Retail/ E-tail & Services award at a ceremony held earlier this month at Pune. The awards recognise the outstanding contributions of those leaders whose work is directly impacting competitive advantage, revenue growth and profitability through the leverage of technological and digital tools and methods.
VR Bengaluru, Virtuous Retail’s latest development in Bengaluru, employs a number of technological measures to offer a differentiated experience to its customers. It is the first centre in the country to introduce an app for the Foodbox in the country. The customers can pair the Foodbox card with their mobile number, check the card balance, recharge the same and also place orders and receive notifications from the food outlets.
The centre also undertakes proximity marketing to make the shopping experience more convenient for the consumers. The VR Bengaluru app has a product listing feature that creates a virtual online product showcase of all the stores at the centre. This helps customers to window shop, finding specific stores and items at the centre and place orders to pick up the items later at their convenience.
It has also taken the customer engagement to the next level by corroborating the Foodbox, free wi-fi database with that of data collated based on wi-fi/ mobile data sniffing.
Director – Virtuous Retail, Rajiv Raichand said, “In our efforts to provide an integrated seamless experience, we are continuously adopting technological solutions that benefits our consumers and at the same time allow us to differentiate our offerings from others. We are glad that our efforts are being acknowledged by the industry.”
