Flipkart named most preferred e-shopping destination during festive sales

Must Read

Flipkart, India’s largest e-commerce marketplace, has been named the most preferred online shopping destination during this festive season in a consumer study conducted by research firm RedSeer Consulting.
Titled ‘Ecosystem Sentiments – Regarding Festive Sales of September 2017’, the report showed Flipkart’s The Big Billion Days sale, running September 20 – 24, was the hands down leader among all e-commerce platforms in India, scoring the highest in areas such as consumer awareness and preference.
The report showed Flipkart had the highest top-of-mind recall among consumers with an overwhelming 92 per cent of respondents saying they were aware of TBBD sale. It further showed Flipkart was the clear preferred platform across all categories, and some 80 per cent of respondents planned to make purchases during the BBD sale. For categories such as Fashion and Electronics, the vast majority of survey takers — 83 per cent and 77 per cent respectively — said they planned to shop on Flipkart over other e-commerce platforms.

In the survey, 96 per cent of seller respondents also said they were aware of Flipkart’s TBBD, the highest among other e-commerce platforms, with 90 per cent of those saying they were participating in the sale.
“The Big Billion Days is India’s largest shopping festival and we pull out stops to ensure people across the country participate in it to shop for their near and dear ones. Our focus is on delighting customers with the widest range of products across categories at the best possible price, delivered at their doorsteps. The fact that customers prefer and trust Flipkart to buy their favourite products during this time is a testimony of all that,” said CEO, Flipkart, Kalyan Krishnamurthy.
Over the years, Flipkart has significantly grown the Indian e-commerce market through innovations that revolved around solving customer-centric problems like accessibility and affordability. The Big Billion Days was started in 2014 to solve the problems Indians faced while shopping for the annual festive season. The BBD sale has since changed the contours of e-commerce and helped bring millions of shoppers from metros and smaller towns online for the first time, with its wide selections, fabulous deals, and exciting offers. That, and other Flipkart disruptions like cash on delivery, easy returns, and first-of-its-kind affordability measures like No cost EMI, and Product Exchange, have resonated well among customers.
