The seventh Middle East Retail Forum (MRF) is around the corner. Scheduled to be held on October 8 & 9, the central theme of MRF 2018 is a look at ‘retail of tomorrow’. Among many things that define what the future of retail will look like is the integration of ‘physical’ with ‘digital’, creating a dynamic, hybrid and ‘phygital’ superstructure.
Over the years, MRF has become a reference point for the regional retail industry – both content and collaboration. In the past, MRF shared not only brilliant insights but has also helped build many fruitful partnerships. It has emerged as a knowledge platform for the retail community – including retailers and entities supporting the industry.
Since 2014 one of the highlights at MRF is the Retail Business Owners & CEOs Conclave. This year, as MRF turns seven, IMAGES Group has decided to spice up the format of the conference. The Retail Business Owners and CEOs Conclave will bring together a prolific group of senior business leaders who will share their experiences of not only surviving but thriving over decades in a highly competitive landscape. What’s more, new-generation retail CEOs will discuss how they are future-proofing their businesses.
Another highlight of MRF 2018 will be an in-depth discussion on the new waves of change in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The focus will be on the recent taxation regime, the opening of cinemas after 35 years, women’s right to drive as well as increased employment opportunities for local Saudis.
The Kingdom is already making significant strides to reduce dependence on oil revenues. An exclusive presentation by AT Kearney will offer a detailed view of the future consumption outlook in Saudi Arabia. There will be yet another exclusive presentation by the Boston Consulting Group on retail’s road ahead.
MRF will see two conclaves – on food service and start-ups – this year. While presentations and discussions will predominate, the high point for both conclaves is the awards felicitating the brightest idea(s).
Also, there will be discussions on changing nature and usage of technology and viewing real estate differently.
Once again, this year, Middle East’s most game-changing retail entrepreneurs, leaders, innovators will converge at MRF 2018 for a powerful showcase around the future of retail’s blueprint.
Needless to mention that we will continue celebrating retailing excellence in the region by hosting one of the most prominent events in the Middle East retail calendar – RetailME Awards 2018. From established to up-and-coming brands, each concept – and best-performing talent – will be acknowledged at the RetailME Awards ceremony.
