At this year’s Home and Personal Care Ingredients (HPCI) Congress in India, Germany-based supplier of specialty chemicals and nutritional ingredients, Cognis presented innovative formulation concepts and solutions that serve the trends for naturalness, convenience and efficiency for the home and personal care industry in Asia. Cognis’ latest eco-friendly ingredients are perfectly aligned with the demands of the Asian consumer – they deliver excellent cleaning performance in home care products, effective defoaming in industrial and institutional (I&I) cleaning applications and contribute to a soft and pleasant skin feel in personal care products.
One of the latest additions to Cognis’ portfolio of eco-label approved ingredients is Cetiol® C5. The emollient is made from 100 percent renewable feedstock and has been granted Ecocert, NPA, BDIH and NaTrue certifications. It can be used as an alternative to cyclic silicones in various applications, including facial, body, sun and hair care products and decorative cosmetics. Cetiol® C5 has good skin compatibility, excellent spreadability and a unique sensory profile.
The demand for natural solutions in the personal and home care market, as well as in the I&I cleaning industry, is growing rapidly in the Asia-Pacific. At a technical seminar, Jeff Huh, Marketing Manager, Home Care/I&I, Asia-Pacific, explained the benefits of these non-ionic surfactants for home and personal care products and how the environmentally sound surfactants APG® meet the Asian consumers’ needs.
