A perfect mix of old world and au-courant, the bridal couture exposition by celebrated designer Tarun Tahiliani, which took place on July 24 at the plush DLF Emporio, set a benchmark for future fashion shows. The modern brides supported classic buns at the nape with the crown hair styled immaculately according to different face shapes. Parisian hairstyles with a lot of character and softness emerged as a big trend for this bridal season. “The hairstyles are inspired from Parisian look and feel, lending the bridal look a modern and subtle touch,” says Bina Punjani, Creative Director, Looks Salon. Slicked back and loosely parted patterns were the prime techniques. In make-up, playing natural was definitely the order of the day with highlighted cheekbones and muted lips. Drama was created with dollops of mascara adding to the `innocently beautiful` theme. The hi-drama traditional garments, on the other hand, were complemented with bold hair accessories like tikas and jewelled hair pieces. Swarovski-studded motifs in the simple up-dos complementing the garments made the whole outfit come to life. Make-up became a tad bit dramatic with colours like peach and coral playing centre stage. Eyes were lightly kohl smudged to give depth, whereas the brows were kept deep and defined.
