Hypermarket chain, Big Bazaar has recently launched a ‘Family Centre’ in Hyderabad. Located at Kachiguda, the new outlet is spread over an area of 1,40,000 square feet.
Sadashiv Nayak, Joint CEO (East & South), Future Value Retail, says, “This is the first ever community-inclusive initiative by any retailer. Community-based initiatives will be a regular part of the Family Centre culture and will help in contributing to the local communities. Encompassing various needs of the consumer, we have brought in many home-grown companies such as Mamtha Sales Agencies, Kalamandir, Burkha Bazaar and Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts, among others, to Big Bazaar. The merchandise mix in the store is a reflection of this.”
The outlet has unique sections including Nazrana, which houses the Holy Quran, Islamic books, gulab jal, namaz caps, carpets and hijab, among other things; Burkha Bazaar (displaying a wide range of burkhas); Kalamandir (offering a wide range of sarees, dress materials and ready-to-wear salwar suits); Fashion Jewellery, which offers all kinds of fashion and costume jewellery under one roof; and Hyderabad House (offering mouth-watering biryani and other Mughlai dishes).
