Whirlpool Corporation, the US- based consumer durables giant, has big plans to make India the hub for its Kitchenaid brand. The company already has a global design and development centre for its Kitchenaid brand in Pondicherry.
The company plans to export consumer durables to eastern/western Europe including Bangladesh, Russia, Pakistan and Middle East, as well as sell washing machines in India under the Kitchenaid brand. The company will invest Rs. 90 crore in India this year.
