Danone has declared that it would return the Tiger brand back to Britannia Industries. But the issue of Intellectual property rights is still a bone of contention between both the parties. Though, Danone agreed to give back the Tiger brand to Britannia in principle, but has clearly mentioned that it can only be effective in the frame of negotiations with Britannia.
Danone said that it registered the Tiger brand in the markets where Britannia is not present, and this has in turn protected the Tiger IP from being abused by others.
