Croma, operated by Infinity Retail – a 100 per cent subsidiary of Tata Sons, has plans to target tier I and tier II cities. The company is looking for space in malls in these cities, in addition to standalone stores. For the present, the company favours large outlets – about 20,000 square feet – in residential zones. It plans to roll out smaller outlets with a size of 10,000-12,000 square feet.
The company plans to roll out over 40 stores this financial year and will add over 10-12 stores every quarter, with an investment of approximately Rs 10 crore in each store. Croma opened two megastores in Ahmedabad last month.
