Madura Garments will soon roll out exclusive outlets for its brands like Louis Philippe, Van Heusen and Allen Solly in the markets of East Africa, West Asia, South Asia and Southeast Asia. It is also learnt that the company is planning to take Planet Fashion, the multi-brand stores, to these markets.
“We are looking for the right partner to set up exclusive brand outlets (EBOs) for all our lifestyle brands and Planet Fashion stores. We will start with Louis Philippe stores and then follow it up with EBOs for our other brands,” Hemchandra Javeri, senior executive president, Madura Garments – Lifestyle Brands and Retail, told Indiaretailing.
The company already has a small presence outside India in West Asia, where its brands are being sold in department stores and across 10 Planet Fashion outlets. The company recently opened a couple of exclusive Louis Philippe outlets in West Asia and an exclusive Allen Solly store in Kenya. “The company is looking to set up 10 Louis Philippe exclusive stores in the overseas market in three years’ time,” industry sources added.
Meanwhile, the company intends to pursue an aggressive retail expansion plan in India. It is looking to strengthen its denimwear offerings under its lifestyle labels and has decided to phase out its jeans brand San Frisco from the market to focus more on its other brands.
Madura Garments recently underwent an internal restructuring that included categorisation of Allen Solly, Louis Philippe and Van Heusen under the ‘lifestyle’ segment, and Peter England as ‘value for money’.
