As the Sensex zooms to touch benchmark index nearing 18,000-point level, Finance Minister P Chidambaram advised retail investors in stock market to be cautious, even as he welcomed the interest evinced by FIIs.
“I do not think retail investors are entering the market at this level. I would advise them caution,” he said. There is apparently a lot of interest from FIIs, the finance minister said, adding: “Why should we not welcome it.”
On Wednesday, the Sensex went up to 17,953.07 points in intra-day trading, but came down to settle at 17,847.
