Longines to expand luxury in tier-II cities

Understanding the potential of luxury products in developing towns of India, the Swiss watch-maker Longines, a luxury brand form the Swatch Group, is planning to open shops in tier-II cities of the country.

The brand has a good presence in the metros and will open 20 new points of sale in tier-II cities including Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Jaipur and Ahmedabad. Five shops out of the new openings will be multi-brand shops and the rest shop-in-shops in other outlets.

Also on the cards is a stand-alone store spanning over 80-100 square metres, for which over one million rupees investments are planned.

Longines is famously endorsed by actor Aishwarya Rai, and retails through 68 points of sale.
