Dell to retail through Croma

Dell, the US-based personal computer (PC) maker, has joined hands with Croma, the consumer electronics retail division of Tata group, to retail their range of products in India.

Announcing the deal, Michael Tatelman, a Dell spokesperson, said: “The agreement with Croma will strengthen Dell’s consumer presence in India, making our products more accessible to more customers.”

Rajiv Ahuja, director of communications, Dell India, said, “Initially, we will retail their products at select stores in Mumbai, but we have plans to make the products available in other Croma outlets as well.”

According to the deal, the company will sell its laptops and desktops from April this year. It will be the first time that Dell products are made available in India through a retail outlet.

Dell has an extended list of global retailers that includes Carrefour, Best Buy, Staples, Gome, and Wal-Mart.

Earlier, Indiaretailing had reported Michael Dell, the founder of Dell, crediting modern retailers for the company’s highest sales growth in a year.
