With the opening of an 8,000 square feet outlet at the Great India Place mall, Noida, Pantaloon Retail India Limited launched their third Staples outlet in the country. The retail stores of the US-based Staples Inc. are managed and operated by Pantaloon Retail India Limited, while Staples Future Office Products Limited (SFOPL) is a joint venture between Staples and Future Group that operates the wholesale distribution and delivery business.
Speaking to Indiaretailing at the launch of the store, Sailesh Karwa, co-CEO, SFOPL, said, “This is our third store in the country and the first in the NCR region. Our motto is to provide the best quality of products and services in the field of office stationery retailing.”
Discussing the concept of the store, Karwa said, “We operate in two different sections. One is the technology section where we retail laptops, desktops and other technological devices including mobiles and memory cards. The other section comprises stationery and gift items. Besides, we also deal in office furniture.”
The company is spread across two wings of business operations. The Staples ‘Retail’ business operates the retail stores; the Staples ‘Delivery’ business runs a dedicated delivery system whereby the products are supplied to various companies and offices from the warehouses. “We supply our products to various companies including TCS and others. We also supply to our Future Group offices,” said Karwa.
Discussing plans, Karwa said, “We will soon launch our fourth store in Bengaluru. Besides, we are planning to open another store in the NCR. We are looking at options and trying to book spaces in Gurgaon.” Karwa did not reveal the time of the opening. Presently, the company operates two stores in Bengaluru.
