Wipro Furniture Business — part of Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting Group — plans to invest Rs 1 billion in its manufacturing facility at Waluj in Maharashtra, reports Business Line. The proposed facility with automated technology, would focus on new products and designs to meet the needs of high-end consumers, added the report.
Further, the company, which launched its furniture range I’M in north India, will be launching its entire range of modular and office furniture range to capitalise on the growth in this sector with a focus on IT and ITES segment, the report added. Delhi is the second market that the company has expanded after making its presence felt in southern markets.
“We have a strong focus on office interiors and offer comprehensive solutions in lighting, switches, furniture and seating. Our focus on new products and technologies will deliver the next wave of growth in these businesses,” Parag Kulkarni, vice-president and head (furniture division), Wipro Furniture Business, quoted in the report.
