In an attempt to strengthen its presence in tier II and III cities with initial focus on southern states, Chennai-based menswear manufacturer and retailer of brands like Genesis, Basics and Probase, Hasbro Clothing has planned to open exclusive brand outlets in Madurai, Salem, Coimbatore, Vishakapatnam, Nellore, Warangal, Tirupathi and other small cities. “Mid-premium is clearly the position that we occupy for Genesis and Basics and Probase is one notch lower than Basics,” said Hanif Sattar, founder and director, Hasbro Clothing.
The stores will be both company owned as well as franchise outlets, he further informed. However, he did not mention details about the number of stores to be opened and the proposed investment plan.
Speaking about the current market scenario, he added: “Hasbro has always been a pioneer of change in whatever it does. Being very close to the market has helped us in overcoming most of the challenges by seeing the trends way ahead and implementing them.”
Currently the company operates 44 outlets in the country and two of its brands — Genesis and Basics — are available through exclusive outlets in Sri Lanka and Gulf regions.
