Food sector would drive economic revival: Vikram Bakshi

Must Read

“Current economic scenario has placed tremendous pressure on businesses. The traditional way of managing will have to give way for some innovative thinking and ideas, says Vikram Bakshi, MD, McDonald’s (North & East India) and president, NRAI.

“Food sector will be one of the few sectors that would drive the economic revival,” he further added. Bakshi shared his views before the forthcoming Food Forum India 2009 (FFI 2009), which is scheduled to take place on March 19-20 at The Renaissance in Mumbai.

The first ever FFI in 2008 was a two-day magnum opus of the Indian food industry with conferences, exhibition and awards. With a perspective on India, FFI comprised a convention and exhibition, and signed off with the Images Coca Cola Golden Spoon Awards for excellence in food retailing.

The second edition of FFI this year, billed as the largest congregation of key, global and Indian, food retailers, manufacturers, organisations and minds in the food business, will span the vast array of food business segments such as food retail, food design, food technology & processing, food logistics & support, food services, information & technology.

“I strongly feel Food Forum India would be an ideal forum to discover and learn those creative, innovative thoughts that would build a sustainable food sector in our country,” concluded Bakshi.
