Must Read

“Food infrastructure is becoming an important concern with more and more state of the art technologies and processes coming into place,” said Sanjay Sethi, VP, Food and Agriculture, Technopak Advisors on the second day of the Food Forum India ’09.

Sharing important facts and details from his years of experience in the industry, Sethi further said: “The cold chain has the potential to grow to Rs 200 billion by 2011.” But he also pointed out the fact that there is a need for logistics, good infrastructure, proper transportation and the likes.

Stating an example, he said that there should be freight cargo or specially designed aircrafts that can deliver the products in the best of conditions. He strongly felt that there needs to be a dialogue between the government and the private sectors.

N Srinivas, technical director, Lloyd Insulation, said: “Creating the unbroken cold chain is the dream everyone cherishes.” In the course of his discussion he dwelled on how to manage the cold chain infrastructure and how in the domestic front they are quality driven.
