The scheduled launch of Wal-Mart Stores Inc’s first cash-and-carry store in India that was delayed for violence in Punjab is set to open on May 30, 2009 in Amritsar, according to company press release.
The store named Best Price Modern Wholesale will spread over 50,000-100,000 square feet each and around 10 and 15 such stores are planned to open over the next seven years across the country, the release added.
