Sankarson Banerjee, CEO, FutureBazaar.com, the online retail arm of Kishore Biyani-led Future Group, has resigned from his post, according to sources. Banerjee has put in his paper a couple of days back and the company is expected to make a formal announcement soon on that.
However, when IndiaRetailing contacted the official source of Future Group, it dismissed the news. “He has not put in his papers yet. There are lots of speculations going on,” said a company spokesperson.
Banerjee joined FutureBazaar.com in 2007 and led the company from its conceptualization phase. FutureBazaar.com retails over 20,000 products and reaches more than 200 cities and towns in India. The company registered profits of Rs 3.95 crore over operating revenues of Rs15.62 crore in FY 2007-08, according to the Annual Report of Pantaloon Retail India Ltd.
