Oracle unveils business process integration for retailers

Must Read

To help retailers improve financial control over merchandising operations and derive greater value from their business, Oracle has announced end-to-end business process integration for retailers using the Oracle Retail Merchandising Suite and Oracle Financials.

The Oracle Financial Operations Control Integration Pack for the Oracle Retail Merchandising Suite and Oracle E-Business Suite Financials is expected to help retailers more effectively control key merchandising financial operations, including providing them with enhanced inventory valuation, more timely revenue recognition and streamlined merchandising procure to pay.

“The Oracle Retail Merchandising Integration Packs for Oracle Financials and PeopleSoft Enterprise Financials are part of a fundamental, long-term commitment to enable customers to gain greater value from their Oracle investment,” says Duncan Angove, GM and senior VP, Oracle Retail.

The retail financial control integration pack is built on Oracle’s Application Integration Architecture (AIA) Release 2.5, a pre-built, open and complete architecture that runs on the Oracle SOA Suite for orchestrating agile, user-centric business processes across enterprise applications.

“We are focused on reducing complexity and making it easier for retailers to take advantage of opportunities for short-term value creation within their businesses while also helping to build long-term competitive advantage,” says Angove.

“The new process integration pack for retail financial control is a great example of how Oracle AIA Release 2.5 further extends the breadth and depth of support across industries,” said Jose Lazares, VPof application development and product strategy, Oracle. “Oracle AIA Release 2.5 is our most extensive release yet and reinforces our unwavering commitment to reducing the cost of integration for our customers while also helping them save time and preserve valuable resources,” he adds.

The retail financial control integration pack is also expected to help retailers maintain and extend integration environments between applications, eliminating the burden of costly point-to-point integrations or custom mapping of data attributes. Wipro served as the co-development partner on the retail financial control integration pack.
