Sony India will soon add 700 more outlets in India raising the count to 1500 from 800 in the previous year. They have also decided to come up with 30 exclusive VAIO flagship stores in major cities by the end of this financial year.
Speaking at the launch of 62 new VAIO laptops in various shades and style, Masaru Tamagawa, Managing Director of Sony India said that the company hopes to acquire 20 per cent of the market shares within this year. Brand ambassador of Sony VAIO Kareena Kapoor with Masaru Tamagawa launched the new series, VAIO S, VAIO C, VAIO E and VAIO Y that starts from Rs. 27,990.
“The company also has plans of doubling VAIO sales in India from Rs. 2.5 Lakhs to Rs. 5 Lakhs this year. We have invested a sum of Rs. 50 crores for marketing the new series of laptops through TVCs, print media, online media, shop fronts and outdoor cinemas,” added Tamagawa. He also spoke about the different features of all the newly-launched VAIO series that ill suit business executives, style conscious youth, students and PC beginners. The VAIO laptops have also incorporated features from the Sony Bravia LCD TV like the shutter glass technology.
The new VAIO series are available at all Sony outlets and leading dealers and distributors.
