Global ice cream brand Haagen-Dazs expands in India

Super-premium ice cream brand Haagen-Dazs, introduced in India by General Mills India Pvt Ltd, has recently opened a flagship outlet at Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi. The brand’s first outlet in India came up at Select CityWalk mall, Delhi in December 2009.

On the brand’s target audience, Arindam Haldar, director, Haagen-Dazs & Business Processes, said, “The target audience for Haagen-Dazs is every cosmopolitan individual who is discerning about his or her taste in music, food & fashion.”

Established by Polish immigrant couple Reuben and Rose Mattus back in 1961, Haagen-Dazs is today one of the largest super premium ice cream brands in the world. It’s the market leader in the US with about 45 per cent share and is present in 54 other countries.
