William Penn Enters East India, Opens Store in Kolkata

Multi-brand fine writing instruments retailer William Penn has opened its first store in East India at Quest mall, Kolkata. The Kolkata store marks the retailer’s 26th outlet and its 21st exclusive store. Spread over 425 sq.ft., the outlet will also retail men’s accessories from international brands like Lapis Bard and Dalvey. William Penn has stores in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kochi.

According to the company officials, with the launch of the Kolkata store, AP Limited Edition writing instruments which represent rare and unique forms of art will be exclusively available at William Penn.

Speaking on the occasion, Nikhil Ranjan, Founder & CEO, William Penn, said :“The opening of William Penn in Kolkata is a significant milestone for the brand. We began in early 2000, when the concept of a unique store for premium writing instruments was quite unheard of. With this new store in Kolkata, we can now proudly say that we are in every major city in India. Our online store has always seen a good response from Kolkata. As a city that loves literature and art, Kolkata resonates deeply with the philosophy of William Penn and we are very happy to open our first store in East India in the City of Joy.”

William Penn began as a standalone stationery store in 2002 and became a premium and luxury fine writing instrument store in Bangalore. The retailer plans to open more stores in Kolkata in the next two years. It will also open two new stores in Thane (Mumbai) and Noida.

The retail chain features over 20 international brands such as Sheaffer, Caran d’Ache, Lapis Bard, Visconti, Lamy, and Sailor.
