In hair styling, in the initial years, one comes across several challenges. However, those who overcome them in right manner, are able to make a career out of it that’s rewarding. Rajesh Shell, Owner, Shell Salon, shares such learning experience from his life which made him associated with the leading hair brand, Schwarzkopf Professional
The beginning
I was young when I entered the hairstyling industry. I worked with Kamal Kooper, who has a salon at Altamount Road in Mumbai and today I think of her as my mentor. After that I went to Tony&Guy in Singapore for advance training. I returned and joined Touch of Joy, a salon located in South Mumbai and stayed there for 10 years. Since 2001, I’ve been associated with Shell, The Salon in Mumbai.

Updating on trends
These days there are several activities happening across the world like the Wella Trend Vision Trophy, L’Oréal Colour Trophy and Essential Looks by Schwarzkopf Professional that keep me updated on the latest trend. I also endorse the social media like Twitter, Facebook, and others to know more and read many magazines like Salon International.
