Infiniti Retail, the subsidiary of Tata Sons, which manages the consumer electronics retail business of the Tata group under the Croma brand name, has announced the appointment of Avijit Mitra as the Chief Executive Officer.
Mitra was the Chief Financial Officer of the company. In the past, he also held several other responsibilities including Legal, IT, Procurement
(Internal Consumption), Merchandising and Quality.
Mitra is a Chartered Accountant and began his career with Tata Global Beverages Ltd in 1990, where he worked in various roles in the finance function for a period of time. He then joined the Indian Hotels Company Limited in 1999, and moved to Infiniti Retail Ltd in 2006.
Croma has 97 outlets across 16 major cities of India and sells over 6,000 products in the stores from five lead categories: Home appliances,
Entertainment, IT products, Digital imaging and Communication.
