HKTDC launches 'Small order zone' to assist SMEs

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) has recently launched ‘Small-Order Zone’, an online transaction platform which enables buyers and suppliers to trade directly over the Internet and facilitates direct sourcing of quality products in small quantities in India.
The Small Order Zone connects global buyers with third-party authenticated suppliers in a secure sourcing and payment environment without time or geographical constraints, the council said.
The platform is a buyer-oriented online sourcing platform for direct sourcing of quality products in small quantities. The concept will create new global business opportunities for Indian companies and their products on the international stage. It will provide them a real time exposure to focused sellers and buyers relevant to their specific industry and expand their business to international markets.
The Small-Order Zone and the e-commerce platform hktdc.com, enables suppliers to promote and sell quality products in small quantities. Currently, there are 100,000+ products available in quantities ranging from 5 – 1,000 pieces, council informed.
“Since 2012, both buyers and suppliers have been enthusiastic about the benefits of using the Small-Order Zone. This easy online transaction process helps suppliers expand internationally easily, bypassing complicated foreign trade processes and creating actual deals across the globe,” the council said.
By providing a four-in-one platform comprising a trade portal, trade fairs, trade publications and mobile apps, the HKTDC helps SMEs capture business opportunities effectively and efficiently.
HKTDC was set-up in 1966 to promote international trade in goods and services through the Hong Kong platform. The council organises over 30+ world class international trade exhibitions and conferences in Hong Kong, ten of which are the largest in Asia and four are the largest in the world. It also publishes 20+ product magazines and industry supplements, undertakes business matching activities and develops trade contacts through HKTDC’s online and mobile applications.
HKTDC has a network of over 46 offices worldwide. In India, it has two consultant offices in Mumbai and New Delhi.
