Nature Inspired

Must Read

From the chairs to the nature inspired display units, everything at the store is custom-made. Leshna Shah’ spectacular jewellery store  Aurelle in Bandra, Mumbai is making heads turn for the design adopted for the store interiors as much for the jewellery collection it houses.
Grand opulent chandeliers and full length mirrors typical for a jewellery store do not greet as one walk into Aurelle. Instead, some sort of mystical element takes over as you out your first step inside the store. Designed by Ajit Shipli, with nature as the central theme of the boutique interior, every nook and corner of the store gives a glimpse of the serene splendor. The walls, are made up of smaller pieces of wood, cut into different sizes and then assembled as a whole. Complimenting all this is the rough ceiling that goes well to accentuates the nature inspires rustic look of the store.
Spread across 1400 sq.ft. of space, Aurelle, which is a subsidiary of Renaissance Jewellery, is a treat to the eyes and the mind. Lesha Shah says: “The store is exactly what I envisioned it to be; unconventional, exclusive and artistic.” It took the team close to half a year to put the store together. Shah adds: “We ensured that there was no stone left unturned to transform our designs on paper to reality with intricate detailing, since everything is custom made. We made sure that we stick to the look and feel yet make it practical to use. Everything in the store, from the display window to the store furniture is customized to fit the space.”
The first thing that strikes as one enter is the generous use of mood lighting. People do not like to sit in bright, direct light, however, so lighting should be focused on walls and points of interest. Each piece of jewellery gleams brilliantly under the light cast and the shadow effect on adds to charm. Soft light gently suffuses the other parts of the showroom, giving the room a cosy feel, while keeping the attention centred on the jewels. The lounge effect that automatically comes
The display is another eye – catching element at the boutique. The handcrafted “tree branches” –does not only highlight the jewellery, but has been fashioned in such a manner that it makes a warm home for every piece displayed. As for the flooring, Shah shares, “When it came to the flooring, we wanted to be practical yet aesthetic. Keeping that in mind, we chose a tone that balanced the colors of nature beautifully — olive green, which has soft oak overtones and subtler shades of green undertones, mixed wonderfully together. This whole effect of offsetting colors from nature and the cement flooring add a rugged texture of earthiness to the room.”
The jewellery collection available at the store is an assortment of cocktail rings, bridal jewellery and contemporary neck pieces crafted using innovative setting and raw materials like – slice diamonds, colored diamonds and pearls.
