Baba Ramdev’a Patanjali Atta noodles, which has generated significant attention lately for its grand launch and promise to raise competition in the market, has found itself in controversy, yet again.

While the matter related to noodles not bearing a Food Safety and Regulatory Authority of India (FSSAI) approved licence still needs clarification, it is now being alleged that worms have been found in certain packs of Patanjali noodles.
As per reports, a resident of Narwana city of Jind district in Haryana bought a Patanjali atta noodles pack from an authorised shop last Thursday, and has now alleged that when he cooked it he found dead worms inside the packet.
Patanjali has, however, rubbished these reports, adding that they are “fabricated”.
“The reports are baseless and fabricated. No formal complaint has been lodged,” Ramdev’s spokesman S K Tijarawala, was quoted as saying.
Patanajali Ayurved launched atta noodles in November this year, aiming to take on Nestle’s Maggi which has returned to the market after a five-month ban.
The group plans to set up six manufacturing plants for Patanjali Atta Noodles to add to the existing unit based in Haridwar as it looks to cater to more states. However, soon after the launch, the company was issued a show cause notice by FSSAI seeking explanation on how the product could be retailed without the appropriate license.
The group, however, has denied having violated FSSAI guidelines.
