Realty major DLF, has announced the opening of what it calls the country’s first destination shopping centre – DLF Mall of India. Built on an investment of Rs 1,800 crore, the mall will be opened in Februrary 2016.
The tenants have started opening their stores with the recent opening of two anchors: Big Bazaar Gen Next last Friday and Max Lifestyle on Thursday, December 17, 2015.
The major anchor tenants include Home Centre, Forever 21, Zara, M&S, GAP, Lifestyle, Pantaloons, UCB, Splash, I Am In, Iconic Kids, Hamleys, Cinemas, Smaaash, Fun City and Ski India. The centre has about 100 fashion brands and 73 food and beverage brands, including 51 cafes, and 22 F&B kiosks. It also has 350 brands, 80 kiosk brands and a seven-screen DT Cinemas multiplex.
“We are expecting a footfall of about 3 million people per month. We have a capacity for 1,700 cars at the parking and hope that alternative parking facilities in the vicinity would share some of the load as well,” Pushpa Bector, executive vice-president, DLF Mall of India, said.
The mall is expected to open in phases with first the anchor brands starting shop along with the multiplex. Among the seven movie screens at the prperty, one is completely dedicated to kids’ films. Bector said the centre is expected to become fully functional by January-end.

DLF Mall of India, which is also the country’s first ‘Zoned’ destination mall modeled after best-in -lass international flagship properties, would offer an eclectic ensemble of retail offerings spread across five dedicated zones: Market Place, International Boulevard, The High Street, Family World and Leisure Land.
