E-commerce major, Snapdeal has signed a deal with French tyre major Michelin to sell its products on it portal.
Michelin opted for Snapdeal because of its large subscriber base and pan India reach. Michelin is expecting the new channel will augment its existing distribution and enable its dealers with a parallel sales pipeline.
As per the deal, the consumers can place their order on Snapdeal to buy Michelin tyres from an authorised dealer and they can also request for fitment at a time and place of their choice. The consumer has the option of same day free fitment, as well as access to exclusive offers on services like alignment and balancing.
Last week, Flipkart, the online retailing portal has taken the opportunity to trade automobiles and accessories. It has entered into a tie up with CarDekho and CarTrade and will now sell motorcycles, scooters and cars on their e-tailing portal.
Vice-president electronics & automobiles at Flipkart, Adarsh Menon said in an Economic Times report, “We believe that Flipkart can solve teething issues such as long delivery times and offer price transparency.”
The Bengaluru based company has begun its selling process with bikes of Mahindra & Mahindra, Kawasaki and TVS Motors. Mahindra KUV100 K8’s bookings had started coming up from January and till date the model has sold around 21,000 units.
