Top 10 global retailers operating in India

The retail industry is changing like never before, with e-commerce and technology taking over all spheres of the sector. However, despite the growing popularity of shopping online, physical stores are still formidable at selling merchandise, owning about 90 per cent of market share in US, recently released data by STORES Magazine (an NRF publication) and Kanter Retail points out.
The magazine has released its annual list of ‘Top 100’ retailers on the basis of retail sales. Here’s a list of top 10 retailers, among these 100 retailers, who have set up shop successfully in India.

Wal-Mart Stores

India Entry:Apple has not yet opened any stores in India. The company is awaiting a clarity regarding sourcing norms unders FDI in single-brand retail. Presently it sells through premium resellers who run exclusive brand stores under the franchise model.
