Realty major DLF is all set to open its new luxury mall, The Chanakya, by first quarter of 2017, confirms a top level executive.
Spread across almost 2 acres of area, the mall will house brands like Versace Collection, Tomford Women and Mont Blanc to name a few, reveals Sr Vice President at DLF Luxury Retail and Hospitality Vertical, Dinaz Madhukar.
In an exclusive interview with Indiaretailing, Madhukar says, “The new luxury mall coming up at Chanakyapuri will be different from DLF Emporio, Vasant Kunj as apart from luxury brand, the mall is also dedicating a floor to bridge to luxury brands. Even, two floors – ground and lower ground – in the mall will see food and food retail.”
She added, “There will also be a three auditorium cinema hall by PVR with a capacity of 1,000 people.”
The mall is also opening four watch boutiques in collaboration with Ethos.
Without divulging the names, Madhukar said that they are still in talks with other luxury brands to set up their shops there.
She says, “It’s a very exciting time for retail and we are excited that new brands looking to enter the country are doing it with us.”
Construction of the four-storey mall-cum-multiplex started in January 2013 and it is nearing completion. The project has been given on a lease for 30 years to DLF and is expected to aid the revival of neighbouring Yashwant Place and the famous Momo Market.
